Meet Ada!
MEDICAL ADOPTABLE - Miss Ada is currently looking for a happily ever after that understands her medical requirements and will provide her with the best care
Thank you to Stephanie for volunteering your time & talents to showcase our pups! 💜
Meet ada!
Miss Ada is estimated to be 8 years young and around 50 lbs. She is spayed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is sponsored by her foster family! She is a sweet old soul with a big heart, loyal, affectionate, sweet, loving, spunky, gentle, and eager to please her humans. She is currently being fostered in East Troy while she waits for her people.
She was recently diagnosed with an idiopathic Anemia condition which requires a special diet which includes a mix of Fromm kibble with raw from Steve’s Real Food as well as supplements from Standard Process and other immune/gut/joint support supplementation (see below for further details).
She needs to be on an immunosuppressant medication every other day indefinitely. She also requires a join supplement such as Cosequin or Dasuquin, omega-3’s, Bener Pro-Red iron supplement chew (essential), Dog Is Human multivitamin, Standard Process supplements (hepatic/adrenal/immune support), Wholistic brand Digest all probiotic/prebiotic powder.
Her blood levels must be checked frequently- improvement has been shown and her blood cell counts are holding stable.
* It is essential that her potential family be aware of Ada’s health diagnosis and are willing to continue to provide the very best care possible to keep her health improving and in a stable condition.
She is also medically exempt from any and all vaccines due to her immunocompromised state/health condition. (Titer testing was completed for rabies and proved immunity via blood test).
Medical exemption letter available and provided by Ada’s Veterinarian)
She receives a monthly heartworm prevention supplement
She is always down for a stroll through town, a car ride to get a pup cup treat, or a snuggle sesh with a movie and popcorn. This girl loves her snacks and is very food motivated. She loves all people she meets (especially kiddos!) and will hop right up on your lap and be your new best friend the moment she meets you!
She is knows “come”, “sit,” “stay”, “shake”
Ada is fully crate trained but would prefer to free roam and be next to her humans if possible. She makes the best snuggle bug at night and during the day loves to nap on a couch or bed. She is not much of a chewer as she has yet to test out her many Benebones but loves to snuggle up with her stuffed animals (a flamingo and ice cream stuffie) and a blanket while watching her favorite, Paw Patrol!
She is potty trained and has had zero accidents in her foster home and is usually let out to do her business 3-4x/day. She shows signs that she has to go out by getting antsy and will walk near a door when she would like to be let out.
Ada’s ideal home:
ONLY DOG HOME- she loves to steal all your attention and be the center of your world- trust me, she’s worth it! She is also muzzle trained for safety due to her dog reactivity while on walks
Someone who is patient with her dog reactivity and knows to respect her space when it comes to other furry friends
Someone who understands her history and diagnosis of idiopathic anemia and is willing to continue her raw diet and supplementation to keep her immune system strong and her health improving.
Someone who understands her lifestyle must be kept low tox to help build her immune system
A family ready and willing to give her love, structure, and continued positive reinforcement training
Her perfect day looks like:
A sunrise stroll (gotta catch those first light rays)
A comfy couch for an afternoon nap
Some daily enrichment (sniffle mat, pupsicle)
A good movie- did someone say Paw Patrol Marathon?
Endless snuggles- preferably next to you (or on your lap)
* Winston’s Wishes is a force free, positive reinforcement rescue. Aversive training of any kind, or techniques involving prong, choke, or shock collars is prohibited.
*Please note - Homes with children. We always recommend the proper supervision be available at all times, with all dogs. For the safety of everyone in the home, please never leave your child alone with your pup unsupervised.
